When I was young, computer game music used to be pretty basic. A few bleeps and bloops. But when it was done right, it could still be pretty damned good. Listen to the theme tune on the left to the (rather good puzzle game) Deflektor and tell me that it wouldn't make a great theme tune to some 80s action show or similar.

But then they got a bit more famous. The fact that this - to the right - got to number one in the 90s is a testament to the game, the music and the fact that people would by ANY old shit in the 90s
Of course now, computer games are considered a proper art form and the music appears on the likes of Classic FM much to the chagrin of people who are appalled that plebs are allowed to listen to classical music without some sort of proof of income and family bloodline. My favourite is the theme from great game Portal that plays over the end credits. Brilliant lyrics, works with the game themes and just ace
And they went and did it again with an equally great song for Portal II
